It is incredible how many different varieties of wildlife you can encounter in a days fishing. I have talked to people who have spent money on wildlife tours and been disappointed time after time. When you fish on the Orca Mist we will visit some of the remotest places on the west coast. There you can see whales, sea lions, porpoise, and eagles on a single trip.
Between the months of May to October mammals of all sorts frequent the waters around Prince Rupert. Sightings of feeding Humpback whales are very common as well as large pods of Killer whales. It’s astonishing to be fishing right along side these huge guys. Of course we will have to stop and take pictures for the people back home. I swear it is just like wildlife magazine some days.
Birds are the one thing you are guaranteed to see. At least 5 different varieties of sea gulls nest on Green Island. Cormorants frequent the waters of this area also. In the summer the number of migratory birds can bee seen in their thousands. I have books on board describing every bird that you see.
Eagles are as frequently sighted as Gulls and number in the hundreds. It seems that every point we troll by there will be an Eagle squawking in the trees. Bears are common if you take the time to look for them. I know some areas that are remote enough to sight Grizzly and Black bears. If you Request, I can take you to these spots for some of the greatest bear watching on the west coast.
